Who this covers
Deal Mapping is the practice of Greg Courtepatte, a deal mapper based in Alberta, Canada, operating as Modern Operator. This policy explains how information you share through dealmapping.ca is handled. If anything here is unclear, you can reach me through the contact form on the site.
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to send me. That falls into two buckets:
- What you type into a form. When you use the contact form or the free Deal Map, I receive the details you enter — typically your name, email address, and whatever you tell me about your business, what you already have, and what you’d like more of.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, the hosting platform logs standard information such as your browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.
How I use it
The information you send is used to reply to you, to think through the opportunity you described, and to carry on the conversation if you want to. That’s the whole purpose. I don’t use it to run advertising campaigns or automated marketing sequences at you.
What I don’t do
I don’t sell your information, rent it, or trade it. I don’t share what you send me with other clients or partners unless you and I have agreed that a specific introduction makes sense for you. Your details stay between us.
Where it’s stored and who helps run the site
The site and its forms run on trusted third-party infrastructure for hosting, database storage, and email delivery. Those providers process the information only so the site can function — for example, so a form submission actually reaches me. They act on my instructions and aren’t permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Cookies
This site keeps cookies to a minimum. It doesn’t run advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks. Any cookies present are there to help the site work properly. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time without breaking the parts of the site that matter.
How long I keep it
I hold on to what you send for as long as it’s useful to the conversation we’re having, and no longer than needed after that. If you’d like your details removed, just ask and I’ll take care of it.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Reach out through the contact form on the site and I’ll handle the request. Because I’m based in Alberta, this policy follows Canadian privacy expectations, and I’m happy to accommodate reasonable requests wherever you are.
Children
This site is meant for people running or working with businesses. It isn’t directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If how the site handles information changes, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Nothing sneaky — the current version is always the one you’re reading here.
