Terms of Service
Plain terms for a plain site. Using dealmapping.ca means you’re okay with the few ground rules below.

Using this site means agreeing to these terms
dealmapping.ca is run by Greg Courtepatte, a deal mapper based in Alberta, Canada, operating as Modern Operator. By browsing the site, using the free Deal Map, or sending a message through the contact form, you’re agreeing to what’s on this page. If you don’t agree with something here, the simplest option is not to use the site.
What this site is — and isn’t
Everything published here is meant to help you think about partnerships and what you can do with what you already have. It’s information and perspective, not formal legal, financial, or tax advice. Before you commit to any real deal, check it with an advisor who knows your specific situation.
The free Deal Map and other tools
The free Deal Map gives you a quick, honest read based on what you enter. It’s a starting point for a conversation, not a guarantee that a particular deal exists or will work out. What you do with the output is your call.
Reaching out through the site
When you send a message or complete the Deal Map, please share information that’s accurate and yours to share. Sending a message starts a conversation — it doesn’t create a paid engagement or any obligation on either side. Any working relationship would be agreed separately, in writing, between us.
What belongs to whom
The writing, the Deal Mapping framework, and the design of this site are mine, and you’re welcome to share and reference them with credit. What you send me stays yours — sending it simply gives me permission to use it to respond to you and work on the opportunity you raised.
No guarantees
I put real care into what’s here, but the site is provided as-is. I can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or perfectly suited to your circumstances, and I’m not liable for decisions made purely on the basis of general information on the site. Deals depend on the specifics, and the specifics are where the real work happens.
Links to other sites
Now and then the site links out to a book or someone else’s work. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and I’m not responsible for what they do. A link isn’t an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
Which laws apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. If a dispute ever came up, it would be handled in Alberta.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will live on this page with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated terms apply.
